Scarborough shows low research participation rates compared to the rest of Toronto, a trend SHN Research Institute aims to understand. The Research Education and Access for Community Health in Scarborough (REACH) Café Scientifique, which took place April 4 was a pivotal milestone for SHN Research Institute – allowing us to explore increasing research coverage, informed consent, ethical concerns, and community engagement in designing studies.

Please be advised that the walk-in Centenary After Hours Clinic is now SHN’s Urgent Care Centre, with new walk-in hours:
Monday to Friday – 3 – 7 p.m.
Saturday – Closed
Sunday – 1 – 5 p.m.

New Community Mental Health Centre coming this Spring
For the first time, SHN’s new Community Mental Health Centre will bring together ambulatory and community outpatient mental health services currently offered at different SHN hospitals and satellite sites into one shared location, allowing for more streamlined access to care.
SHN and partners host screening event for breast cancer in South Asian community
A panel of healthcare workers and patients with lived experience discussed breast cancer among the South Asian community, and shared information on preventative screening, treatment options and how mental health and nutrition play a role in modifiable breast cancer risks and recovery.
