Welcome the Scarborough Academy of Medicine’s inaugural director

SHN is celebrating a pivotal development in the journey towards opening the Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH), slated for 2026. Join us in welcoming Dr. Caroline Chan as the first academy director of the Scarborough Academy of Medicine (SAM), working collaboratively with SHN and U of T Scarborough to advance medical education in Scarborough and beyond.

Community Mental Health Centre opening soon

SHN is excited for the new Community Mental Health Centre to open its services on May 23. Located on Eglinton Avenue East, this Centre will, for the first time, bring together SHN’s ambulatory and community outpatient mental health services into one shared location, allowing for better integrated and more streamlined access to exceptional quality care.

If you are driving to the hospital that day, please use the entrance off of McCowan Road. Once on-site, look for signs and volunteers who will have resources to help direct you.
