Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is excited to share that our new SHN Community Mental Health Centre has opened and begun to offer its services to the community!
The Community Mental Health Centre is one of SHN’s key capital projects that, for the first time, brings together ambulatory and community outpatient mental health services currently offered at different SHN hospitals and satellite sites into one shared location at 1940 Eglinton Ave. E, 2nd floor.
The following mental health services have moved to the Community Mental Health Centre:

Meeting our community’s needs
The launch of the centre fulfils a commitment to deliver better integrated outpatient mental health care and make it easier for patients to seek services and treatment where they are more accessible right in the community. The Community Mental Health Centre is one of SHN’s key capital projects as SHN strives to Build It Forward for our community.
Grand opening!
On June 20, 2024, SHN was joined by esteemed donors, SHN team members, the Premier Doug Ford and other government officials to celebrate the grand opening of the Community Mental Health Centre. The centre was made possible entirely thanks to donors, who collectively donated $6 million to enable this priority project within SHN Foundation’s Love, Scarborough campaign.
The centre gives patients access to the RBC Youth Mental Well-being Clinic, the Bell Seniors’ Mental Health Clinic, the Slaight Family Foundation Cultural Psychiatry Clinic, and the Ray Gupta and Family Mood & Anxiety Clinic.
We are grateful for every donor that contributed to this project and our Scarborough hospitals. This new centre demonstrates the power of philanthropy and how much we can achieve together with our community, and generous donors.
SHN’s new Community Mental Health Centre is an inclusive and highly accessible 15,000 square-foot space that features:
- A comforting and spacious waiting area
- One-on-one treatment and counselling areas designed to help with recovery
- Quiet rooms
- Collaboration and group spaces
- Psychiatrist offices
- A pharmacy for client prescriptions
Through the centre, SHN is also expanding on our “no wrong door” approach to care that includes a centralized intake model and improved care pathways for getting patients to the right service at the right time.
SHN would like to thank the many teams who have been involved in the coordination and development of this centre, including the mental health teams that have moved from their previous locations across satellite sites and our hospitals to the Community Mental Health Centre!
