Karen McKay has joined Scarborough Health Network’s (SHN) Board of Directors, following this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 13, at Centenary Hospital.

With more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector including over 20 years as Vice President, Human Resources and Employee Development for Eli Lilly Canada, Karen is a distinguished leader in human resources, talent management, compensation, and employee development.

“I am excited to officially welcome Karen to our Board,” said Matt Ainley, Board Chair.

“Our commitment to exceptional quality care and our culture of excellence continue to draw and nurture top-tier talent at every level, from our dedicated frontline teams and outstanding physicians to our esteemed Board of Directors.”

SHN has several transformational projects underway that will have a direct impact on exceptional quality care, integrate the healthcare system within Scarborough, and educate the next generation of healthcare professionals. These initiatives are crucial in shaping a healthier community by extending our reach beyond hospital walls, tailoring research and educational efforts to address the unique health needs of our community, and collaborating with health system partners to ensure seamless and coordinated care.

The 2024-2025 Board of Directors is looking forward to an exciting year ahead, and will ensure SHN remains an innovative leader within our health system, and a trusted partner within our community. The next Board meeting will take place in the fall and details will be posted on SHN.ca and on social media.

The Board of Directors would also like to recognize departing Director Gabriel Granatstein, for his indispensable contributions to SHN and the Scarborough community while in his role.
